Paula Sobral
Associate Professor w/ Habillitation
Paula is a PhD in Environmental Sciences with background in Biology.
She is a senior researcher at MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre and develops research on marine litter microplastics since 2008.
Current research interests: Presently looking at microplastics mapping and characterization and on its sources and sinks and the effects of microplastics contamination by persistent organic pollutants on marine organisms and integration of biomarkers from molecular to organism level.
Other research interests: interested in the scientific and social values of ecology and its application to the management of natural resources including ecosystem restoration. Interested in science communication and outreach activities about the state of marine ecosystems, particularly, regarding marine litter and microplastics.
