Matilde is a PhD candidate in Environment and Sustainability at NOVA FCT. Her research focuses on analyzing geomorphological changes in the intertidal zones of the Sado Estuary and investigating the shifts in biomass and distribution of salt marshes over the past 40 years, leveraging advanced remote sensing techniques. She has a strong background in marine animal conservation and cetacean observation, having participated in several internships across Portugal, the Netherlands, and Italy. She holds a Master’s degree in Biostatistics (2022-2024) and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (2019-2022), both from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL). She has strong data analysis skills and experience with programming languages such as R and JavaScript, and she is passionate about nature.
