Marta do Rosário Cristino Silva Ventura has a PhD in Environment and Sustainability with a speciality in Environment and Sustainability Sciences from the Nova School of Science and Technology at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT NOVA) (FCT/UNL) as well as a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Universidade dos Açores. She also graduated in Clinical Analysis and Public Health from the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Coimbra. She is a senior laboratory technician at the Laboratory of Reference Materials in the Food and Nutrition Department at the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge. Her work focuses on food security and quality management developing and implementing analytical methods for the multi-elemental determination of trace elements by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). She has participated in national and international research projects on food security, environmental contamination, biomonitoring, and public health. Recently, she was a Co-PI of the ILiFOOD project - EXPL/CTA-AMB/0977/2021, wich was financed by FCT. She is also an integrated researcher at MARE - Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre. She has published several papers in national and international journals as an author or a co-author. Since 2015, she has been a substitute quality manager at the Laboratory of Reference Materials. She has also collaborated as a member of the organizing committee of many scientific events. She has been a student internship advisor at the Laboratory of Reference Materials. Since 2022, she has been an Invited Adjunct Teacher at Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, responsible for the Water and Food Analysis course unit
