We would like to congratulate our colleague Beatriz Matos for being granted with an FCT, I.P. PhD scholarship!

Her PhD project aims to understand the toxicological impact that mixtures of PAHs can cause in marine environments using in vitro assays followed by an in situ validation.
She expects to develop new tools (E.g biomarkers) for environmental risk assessment of PAH mixtures. This way, she can make her contribution to the protection of marine life and consequently of human health.

Her PhD project is part of the PAHMIX project and will be supervised by Professor Marta Martins (MARE) and co-supervised by Professor Vasco Branco (IMED) and Professor Mário Diniz (UCIBIO).
