Ângela has both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Conservation and Restoration, with specialization in Stained-glass and Stained-glass Painting. Her research was focused on the history and techniques of artistic productions of the sanguine paint.

She is currently undertaking PhD studies in Conservation Science at CORES Program in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage with the subject "Lanterna Magica –Technology and preservation of painted glass slides for projection with Magic Lanterns".

MAGICA wins FCT funding!

The Project MAGICA (Magic Lantern – Study, Safeguard, Uses and Reuses in 19_th-Century Portugal) won with the maximum grade the financial support of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT-MCTES) (Project Reference: PTDC/ART-PER/1702/2021).

Special Commendation Award

January 22, 2020

A Special Commendation Prize on Mervyn Heard Award (2019) by the Magic Lantern Society was awarded for the project Technology and Preservation of Painted Glass Slides for Projection with Magic Lanterns by Márcia Vilarigues, Ângela Santos, Vanessa Otero and Beatriz Rodrigues.
