Susana França de Sá is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Conservation and Restoration at NOVA FCT. Her research focuses on conservation strategies for modern materials and contemporary art, particularly plastics, foams, rubbers, and coated fabrics.

She specialises in preventive storage solutions and sustainable conservation methods to address the challenges posed by these materials in museum collections. She currently coordinates InBloom (2023.11375.PEX), a research project investigating the impact of blooming in TPU-coated fabrics in fashion and design collections.
