short CV / research interests:

 

I graduated in Education of Physics and Chemistry at the University of Evora in 2001 and I completed my PhD degree in Chemistry at Associated Laboratory CICECO (University of Aveiro) in 2006. During the period 2006-2010 I was Post Doc researcher in the same unity. In 2010, I got the Assistant Researcher position at the Associated Laboratory REQUIMTE at Faculty of Sciences and Technology of New University of Lisbon integrated in the Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry Group.

The research of my PhD and Post Doc involved the study of the inclusion of transition metal complexes with interesting catalytic or photofunctional properties in inorganic host materials (Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and ordered mesoporous materials (MCM-41)) and the design of new inorganic/organometallic complexes. I acquired skills in the field of synthesis and manipulation of air-sensitive compounds, in the synthesis and post-synthesis modification of inorganic materials, and in the characterisation of the compounds by several solid state techniques.

In the last years, as Assistant Researcher, I have been involved in the design and characterization of new functional materials containing photochromic dyes, such as mesoporous materials with covalently attached flavylium unities or encapsulated chalcones, new intrinsically electrochromic or photochromic ionic liquids with metal complexes, synthesis of polyazamacrocycles and their metal complexes and in preparation of green heterogeneous catalysts for oxidation.
