short CV / research interests:

After a BSc degree in Applied Chemistry (specialization in Organic Chemistry) in 2007, I’ve obtained my MSc degree in Bioorganic Chemistry with final year research project entitled “Synthesis of benzopyrylium salts for application as fluorescent sensors and photocagers” in 2009. Since then I have focused my scientific interest in the synthesis of photossensitive organic molecules and in the characterization of their photophysical and photochemical properties. During my PhD project, entitled “Photochemical control of rheology”, I’ve developed cinnamate and coumarin based compounds that change rheological properties of solutions. Currently, my main scientific interest is on the synthesis of photoresponsive ionic liquids with physical properties tunable with light stimuli. In addition, my research background provided the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques such as UV-Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, time-correlated single photon counting and a variety of chromatographic techniques.
