short CV / research interests:
Degree in Applied Chemistry (17/20), Organic Chemistry profile obtained in 2004 at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia – Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In the same year I start my PhD supervised by professor João Aires-de-Sousa, in the same institution, and co-supervised by professor Carlos Afonso at Instituto Superior Técnico – Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. I obtained the PhD degree in Chemistry– Organic Chemistry (approved by unannimity) in 2009 with the work entitled “Propriedades Físico-Químicas de Líquidos Iónicos e Estudos Químio-Informáticos de Reactividade Química” – The work performed during the PhD had both Organic Chemistry and Chemo-Informatics profile. In the period of September 2009 – April 2011 I worked as Pos-Doc Investigator in a ERA-CHEM project “Molecular Catalysis for CO2 Incorporation Into Glycerol (Universidade Nova de Lisboa-Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia in collaboration with Université de Bourgogne, CNRS, Dijon, France and Technische Universitat Dortmund, Germany) – My role on that project concerned to Phase-equilibrium and Thermodynamic studies. From May 2011 to present I work as Pos-Doc Investigator with individual research grant provided by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and my lines of investigation consist in the development of innovative systems for CO2 capture and utilization, preparation of reversible Ionic Liquids, applications of organic superbases, thermodynamic Studies incorporating fluid phase equilibria data, preparation and modification of API’s with improved activities and bioavailabilities, use of chemo-informatics as a tool to solve fluid phase equilibria problems and finally development of systems for separation of added value compounds from industrial residual mixtures.
My main academical achievements concern to a prize obtained in 2004 as second best student in Applied Chemistry (2003/2004). 13 already published papers in peer review scientific publications, 1 conference proceeding, 1 paper and 1 national patent in submission process and 8 oral communications in national and international conferences.
