António Miguel Teixeira Vicente

Researcher

António T. Vicente holds a B. Sc. and M. Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and received his PhD in 2017 for his work on silicon thin film solar cells on paper-based substrates with applications in optoelectronic biodevices. His doctorate work led to the first reported fabrication of silicon thin film solar cells on common paper-based products, which opened new avenues in this field towards intelligent and sustainable biodevices and received two national awards.

He his currently working on the optimization of nano-structured thin-film solar cells based in perovskite materials and other research interests involve the development of systems thinking methodologies (factoring in sustainable development goals, life cycle analysis and circular economy concerns) to strategize research and product innovation, from a technology-to-market point-of-view.

Outside the lab, you can find Vicente rock climbing, backpacking, sketching or geeking out about some boardgame.
