Short Bio
José F. Malta holds a BSc and MSc in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCT) and a PhD in Chemistry from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC) within the ChemMat – Materials Chemistry PhD Doctoral Programme.
During the last years, he was involved in several projects related to polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs), organic photovoltaics, chiral and topological magnets, skyrmionic compounds, single-molecule magnets, thermoelectric materials, and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs).
His scientific interests rely on several domains of Materials Chemistry, namely structural materials, conductive polymers, thermoelectric materials, magnetic materials, semiconductors, nanotechnology, soft matter physics and band structure calculations of solids.
