Short Bio

João Canejo earned his Ph.D in Materials Science from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2012. His scientific activity is mainly focused on the development of non-woven electrospun membranes using preferentially, but not exclusively, cellulosic materials and liquid crystalline phases with applications that include oil/water separation, deformation sensors for structural monitoring and anti-microbial textiles. More recently, work has been developed using the co-axial electrospinning and the production of double layer microfibres. Other scientific interests also include characterization techniques such as mechanical testing and scanning electron microscopy.
