Short Bio

Francisco Sousa holds an MSc in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering, completed in 2024 at the NOVA School of Science & Technology. From May 2023 to July 2024, he worked at Bac3Gel®, a biotechnology start-up specializing in the production of artificial mucus models for in vitro testing of therapeutic molecules on bacterial communities. As part of the R&D team, Francisco contributed to the development and optimization of new models, while also ensuring quality control in production processes.

He has experience in additive manufacturing techniques and different characterization methods, including rheological analysis and profiling of pH, O2, and redox potential.
