Desafios da Engenharia at Escola Secundária do Lumiar, Lisbon
The program Engenheiras Por Um Dia promotes, among non-higher education students, the option for engineering and technology, deconstructing the idea that these are male domains.
A Government initiative, this Program is coordinated by, Comissão para a Cidadania e a Igualdade de Género (CIG) and INCoDe.2030, with Associação Portuguesa para a Diversidade e Inclusão (APPDI), Instituto Superior Técnico and Ordem dos Engenheiros and involves a network of 86 partner entities (11 of which are municipalities), 52 primary and secondary schools and 19 higher education institutions.
Two different Engineering challenges related with materials design and engineering were presented by the DynaCellCollect PI, Ana Almeida, to a 12th grade students class form the Escola Secundária do Lumiar (Lisbon) to promote, among the female students of non-higher education, the option for engineering and technologies (STEM), deconstructing the idea that these are male domains.
