Short Bio

Ana Almeida has a PhD in Ciência e Engenharia de Materiais (2021) by Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, MSc in Biotecnology (2009) by Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia and BSc in Applied Chemistry (2007) by Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia.

Currently she is a researcher in the LAQV-Requimte in the Chemistry Department, NOVA School of Science & Technology and colaborador member of CENIMAT|i3N. She has solid experience in the study of molecular and macroscopic properties and behaviour of soft materials, mainly cellulose-based Liquid crystalline systems, and participated in the development and design of materials inspired by Nature.

Supervision of Master students and activities as Teaching Assistant of theoretical and lab classes granted not only scientific abilities and knowledge but also soft-skills such as communication, mentoring, project and time management, problem solving & decision-making.
