Angela Pimentel came to Lisbon, Portugal in 2007 to join the Faculty of Science and Technology from New University of Lisbon where she fulfilled a bachelor and master degree in Biomedical Engineering.

In her master thesis she developed an algorithm for the characterization of behavioural models of Parkinson’s disease using a biosensor, which were developed in collaboration with PLUX – Wireless Biosignals, S. A. and with Instituto de Medicina Molecular in Lisbon.

Now she started her Phd in Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Her main objectives are to compare the continuous biosignals measurements occurred by changes on blood glucose levels in diabetic patients, in order to develop an early warning of hypoglycemia.
