Sara is enrolled in the MIT-Portugal Doctoral Program in Bio-Engineering Systems, currently developing her PhD thesis in the design of nature-inspired solvents for the development of more benign extraction processes using aqueous biphasic systems for the purification of therapeutic biomolecules.

She has joined the group as a fellowship researcher in 2015, with MSc in Molecular Biotechnology as background.

Supervised by João M. M. Araújo (FCT-NOVA) and co-supervised by Ana B. Pereiro.
