short CV / research interests:

I received my Master degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon) in 2008.

Presently, I’m a PhD student in Science Conservation at the Department of Conservation and Restoration – Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and I do part of my research at Istituto di Fisica Applicata “Nello Carrara” (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) in Florence. My thesis focuses in the study of the history, materials and techniques of Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (1887-1918) in the framework of the project “Crossing-Borders: History, Materials and Techniques of Portuguese painters (1850-1918): Romanticism, Naturalism and Modernism” (PTDC/EAT-EAT/113612/2009).

One of the main topics of my investigation concerns the characterization of materials using in situ non-invasive spectroscopic techniques.
