Susana Belchior

Biography

Susana Belchior is a PhD fellow in Conservation and Restoration at LAQV-REQUIMTE - Associated Laboratory Requimte and DCR - Department of Conservation & Restoration (FCT/UNL), and INET-MD/Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança (FCSH/UNL). The working title of the current research is "Immaterial in the Material: a study on 78rpm audio carriers in Portuguese collections" (FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia grant ref. SFRH/BD/80411/2011). Was a full-time member of the research project "The Phonographic Industry in 20th Century Portugal" at INET-MD, from 2008 to 2011 (FCT grant ref: PTDC/HAH/70991/2006). Worked at RTP- Radiotelevisão Portuguesa,  from 1992 to 2003, at the Technical Department, the Archive, and as a Delegate Producer for Drama and Comedy. Before joining the television world, worked as a Sound Assistant for 2 years, having then the chance to work at some of the major music venues in Portugal.
