Aurélio Sine is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering / Structures at Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) and a researcher at LABEST-FEUP since 2016. He received his B.Eng in Civil Engineering (2013) at Faculty of Engineering of University Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Mozambique. In 2013 he joined the Department of Construction Materials and Structures at Laboratory of Engineering of Mozambique (LEM) as junior researcher. From 2014 to 2016 he worked as junior teaching assistant at his bachelor faculty.

Brisid  Isufi

Brisid Isufi received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in December 2018. He received his Master's degree in Structural Engineering and the Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic University of Tirana. His research interests include seismic behaviour of flat slab-column connections, punching shear in flat slabs, structural dynamics and earthquake engineering.

Carla Marchão received her Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering / Structures (2015) from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and also holds a M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering and a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon.

After working in industry for 11 years and teaching at the Civil Engineering Department at Instituto Superior Técnico for 7 years, she joined the Department of Civil Engineering at NOVA University of Lisbon as a Teaching Assistant in 2007 and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2015.

Carlos F. F. Sousa

Carlos F. F. Sousa

Carlos Sousa is a full-time Assistant Professor at FEUP. He defended his PhD thesis at FEUP in 2012 entitled “Analysis of cyclic and long-term effects in continuous precast railway bridge decks”. His research interests include tipe-dependent analysis of cracked reinforced concrete structures, precast concrete bridges, laboratorial testing of structures and materials and fibre reinforced concrete. He is author of 12 publications in international ISI journals, 3 publications in national journals and 53 papers in conferences. He is cosupervisor of 2 concluded and 1 ongoing PhD theses.

Eduardo Júlio é professor catedrático de Engenharia Civil do Instituto Superior Técnico da Universidade de Lisboa. Foi presidente do ICIST e um dos promotores e fundadores do CERIS. Participou activamente na criação do Laboratório Colaborativo (Co-Lab) Cement Sustainable Technologies. É (foi) membro de diversas comissões e grupos de trabalho de associações internacionais (fib, IABSE, IABMAS, ICOMOS), norte-americanas (TRB e ACI) e nacionais (GPBE, APEE, ASCP). É membro conselheiro da Ordem dos Engenheiros e especialista em Estruturas.

Jónatas Miguel de Almeida Valença is currently a researcher with CERIS, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. His research interests lie in Advanced Structural Health Monitoring and Characterization, and Rehabilitation and Conservation of Structures and Built Heritage. In this scope, he has developed tools based on multispectral image processing and computer vision. Domain of activity: structural assessment and monitoring; advanced structural health monitoring; image processing; computer vision; photogrammetry.

Julia Blazy is currently a researcher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) and a member of LABEST since 2019. She received both her Bachelor and Master Degree in Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Silesian University of Technology in Poland (March, 2019). Her research interests include application of High and Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concretes, behaviour of flat slab structures, numerical and experimental modelling.

Mário Pimentel is a full-time Assistant Professor at FEUP. He defended his PhD thesis at FEUP in 2011 entitled “Numerical modelling for safety examination of existing concrete bridges”. During his PhD he was a visiting researcher at the École Polytechnique Féderále de Lausanne. His research interests include constitutive modelling of cement based materials, the development of integrated methodologies for structural safety assessment of the existing infrastructure and the use of advanced cementitious materials for providing long-lasting and cost-effective strengthening solutions.

Sandra Nunes is a full-time Assistant Professor at FEUP. She was awarded the title of European Doctorate, in 2009, by the University of Porto, and also holds a M.Sc degree in Structural Engineering with a thesis entitled “Performance-based design of self-compacting concrete (SCC): a contribution to enhance SCC mixtures robustness.” During her PhD she was a visiting researcher at The Delft University of Technology, in The Netherlands.
