Last Friday, we had the pleasure of attending a fascinating seminar by Prof. Maurício Lima, entitled “Polymorphs, Strains, Proteoforms: The Discrete Existence of Proteins", hosted by Dr. Ana Luísa Carvalho.
Prof. Lima is the supervisor of our visiting PhD student Fernando Ribeiro from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Fernando is currently being trained in cryo-electron microscopy and tomography (cryoEM/ET) through a collaboration supported by a Brazilian funding program.
During his visit to Portugal — which extends until the end of the month — Prof. Lima kindly provided this wonderful opportunity to share his research and insights with the UCIBIO NOVA FCT community.
After the seminar, the CryoEM@NOVA team had the pleasure of joining Prof. Lima for lunch, where we continued exchanging ideas on various scientific topics and shared research interests.
