NATIONAL GEOLOGY CONGRESS 2018

The X National Geology Congress "X Congresso Nacional de Geologia" (X CNG) is the most important scientific meeting in the area of Geosciences in Portugal and this edition is organized by the Institute of Research in Volcanology and Risk Assessment (IVAR) and by the Geological Society of Portugal (SGP), and runs from 7 to 16 July 2018.

NATIONAL GEOTECHNICS CONGRESS 2018

The "16CNG - 16th National Congress of Geotechnics" will be held for the first time in the Azores, in the city of Ponta Delgada, from 27 to 30 May 2018 and is being organized by the "Laboratório Regional de Engenharia Civil" (LREC) of the Azores, in conjunction with the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG), which promotes it.

GLOBAL STONE CONGRESS 2018

The Global Stone Congress 2018 held from April 26 to 29, in Ilhéus, Bahia, Brazil, featured more than 10 articles and posters presented by the Portuguese Industry and Academia.

During these days, more than 200 people from all over the world discussed the themes of Architecture, Sustainability and Technology around the Natural Stone.

3rd SYMPOSIUM IN FOOD PRODUCTION AND TRANSFORMATION: SUSTAINABILITY, INNOVATION AND NUTRITION / PRODUÇÃO E TRANSFORMAÇÃO DE ALIMENTOS: SUSTENTABILIDADE, INOVAÇÃO E NUTRIÇÃO"

The 3rd Symposium on Food Production and Transformation: Sustainability, Innovation and Nutrition took place on June 2, 2017 in Leiria. It was organized and attended by professors, researchers and students from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, School of Agriculture of the Polytechnic Institute of Beja and FCT-NOVA.

THE 17th ANNUAL CONFERENCE IAMG

At the 17th annual conference of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG), held on September 5-13, 2015, Freiberg (Saxony) Germany, four oral presentations were made as a result of master's theses in Geological Engineering:
- A comparative study of the tensor and upscaling methods for evaluating permeability in fractured reservoirs: Ricardo Flório, José Almeida
- Multipoint statistics of azimuth angle classes: an application to the simulation of channel structures and the evaluation of porosity in siliciclastic reservoirs: Mariana Quininha, José Almeida, Paulo Legoinha
- The simulation of W-Sn grades of the São Pedro das Águias skarn ore deposit (Tabuaço, northern Portugal): Gonçalo Gomes, José Almeida, Martim Chichorro, Filipa Matias
- The use of rock density for improving the morphological and metal grid models of the sulphide ore deposit of Zambujal (Neves-Corvo mine): David Silva, José Almeida
