Samaneh Sharif

Biography

Samaneh Sharif holds a bachelor degree by High educational Center for Cultural heritage in Tehran in 2010. She completed her Master in Conservation and Restoration of Museum Objects in Art University of Tehran in 2013 with the dissertation “The role of risk assessment for deterioration caused by temperature and humidity in preventive conservation at museum storage”.
From 2012 to 2015 she worked as a conservator in major museums in Iran where she carried out several tasks such as conservation and restoration, managing the museum environment, preparing objects for exhibitions, handling and moving of museum objects, Integrated pest management, scientific research.
Since 2016 she is a Ph.D. student of Conservation Science, at the  Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. Her research focus on the area of natural yellow dyes in Persian carpets. She is also interested in Preventive Conservation, Museum Risk Management, Textile Conservation, Aesthetics of Art.
