Henrique Costa

Research assistant

Henrique Costa is a PhD student in Biotechnology at FCT-NOVA. His PhD project is focused on the development of novel biomaterials to be used as sustainable alternatives in downstream processing applications.

He holds a MSc and a BSc in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, both from the FCT-NOVA, and before starting his PhD he was as a research assistant for 1 year under the SCENT ERC Project. As a researcher, he has experience in volatolomics, gas sensors, humidity and sensitivity.

Inês Pimentel Moreira

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Inês is a postdoctoral researcher working within the SCENT project, more particularly in the study and development of different biopolymer-based gels to be used in an array of different sensors for enhanced gas sensing. She combines experimental techniques with coarse-grained molecular dynamics in order to get a deeper understanding of the systems.Holding an MSc in Bioengineering - Biological Engineering and a PhD in Chemistry, she has experience in biopolymers, enzymes, self-assembled systems and emulsions.

Manuel Matos

PhD. Student

Manuel Matos is a Biochemist with complementary expertise in Biotechnology, namely in bioengineering of affinity ligands. He completed his MSc in Biotechnology in 2015 at FCT-NOVA (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and his BSc in Biochemistry in 2013 at FCT-UC (Faculdade de Ciencias e Tecnologia, Universidade de Coimbra).
